Yvonne is the Head of Corporate Insurance & Insurtech. She specialises in advising on corporate and regulatory matters for the insurance industry, with expertise across each stage of the business life cycle from establishment of operations, regulatory licensing and distribution, corporate governance and restructures, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory investigations.
Yvonne has a depth of experience in the Australian insurance and insurtech sector as it has evolved over the past decade. She advises a range of domestic and international insurers, reinsurers and insurance intermediaries on the highly regulated Australian environment in relation to financial services licensing requirements and obligations, product development, distribution and agency agreements, compliance frameworks and portfolio transfers.
She has represented clients in a number of regulatory investigations and inquiries conducted by Australian regulators such as ASIC, APRA and the landmark Financial Services Royal Commission, assisting clients with navigating the regulations and strategic responses to regulator inquiries.
Yvonne takes a commercial and collaborative approach to working with clients to achieve their strategic objectives.
She has been recognised as a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500 Asia Pacific for Insurance and for Regulatory Investigations and Compliance, and has been recognised as a finalist in a number of Lawyers Weekly Awards, most recently as Partner of the Year for the Women in Law Awards in 2024. Yvonne is also an advocate for diversity and inclusion initiatives, in her role as the Vice-President of the Asian Australian Lawyers Association (NSW Branch) and she has been recognised for her contribution to the community as a finalist for the Asian-Australian Leadership Awards for Legal & Professional Services in 2024.
