
Tiarn acts for insurers, underwriting agencies and corporate entities in financial lines, liability and property insurance matters across Australia. Her practice ranges from low value-high volume portfolios to multi-million dollar litigation and is supported by a team of experienced and personable lawyers.
She regularly defends claims against professionals, including solicitors, accountants, auditors, migration agents and construction professionals in the Federal and Supreme Courts. She has also acted for directors, officers and former Government Ministers in examinations and investigations undertaken by liquidators, ASIC and other regulatory bodies.
Tiarn acts in a range of claims spanning fraud and fidelity, industrial special risks and property (first and third party) matters across the mining, farming, hospitality, construction, and logistics industries. She often leads subrogated recovery projects for insurers, conducts aged-claim portfolio reviews, and is known for navigating claims involving both insured and uninsured losses to achieve commercial outcomes for all stakeholders.
Tiarn has worked in private practice and in-house with a major insurer. She advises on coverage issues across a wide range of insurance policies, including issues arising under various provisions of the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 (Cth), subrogation and dual insurance.
Tiarn is known for her commercial approach to matters and is often complimented for her direct and down to earth manner which helps to deliver quick, pragmatic outcomes for her clients.
Tiarn was recognised by her peers in Best Lawyers for Insurance Law in 2024, 2025 and 2026. She was previously recognised in Best Lawyers ‘Ones to Watch’ category in 2023.
