Tegan Conserdyne

Senior Associate, Melbourne Direct: +61 3 9611 8814 tconserdyne@gclegal.com.au

Tegan acts for insurers and self-insureds in a wide variety of public and product liability claims, including acting for local government, domestic and London-based insurers and claims management agencies. She also provides coverage advice to insurers in relation to a wide variety of insurance policies.

She runs personal injury claims for principals with minimal assistance – such claims range from simple to complex matters involving multiple parties, multiple incidents, high quantum, complicated medical evidence and/or VWA recovery.  Tegan holds a degree in Psychology, taking particular interest in psychological/psychiatric injuries, and assists in resolving sensitive, complicated and high damages claims.  Her excellent performance recently resulted in placement with an insurer, deepening the firm’s insights and understanding of this client and the relevant areas of practice.

Tegan also manages files and runs matters in the Human Rights List in Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, and most importantly obtains good results for insured and insurer clients. These matters involved managing claims that were brought by self-represented litigants, often involved serious allegations and needed to be sensitively managed.

She has recently expanded her experience into professional indemnity claims relating to migration agents, maternal health nurses, solicitors and shareholder oppression. In particular, Tegan has assisted with claims made against migration agents by former clients, who are often overseas and speak little (if any) English – and prepared submissions to the Regulator on behalf of Migration agents.

She is a valued mentor of graduates and junior solicitors across a number of practice teams.
