Paris has extensive experience in civil litigation across a range of areas including medical negligence, institutional abuse, public liability, common law claims, total and permanent disablement claims, motor vehicle accident claims and workers’ compensation.
Her experience in personal injury matters has been primarily focused on complex and catastrophic injury claims following fatalities including brain, spine, amputation and severe psychiatric injuries (including nervous shock). She has also had significant involvement in dependency claims involving complex business structures.
In addition to her technical knowledge, Paris’ prior experience as both a plaintiff and defendant solicitor assists her in understanding concerns which can arise on both sides of each claim and she is able to utilise this knowledge to assist her client’s in determining an appropriate claim strategy and early settlement, where appropriate.
Paris has an ability to exercise a high level of independent judgement and lateral thinking and utilises her existing knowledge of civil litigation practice to identify and assess legal issues. She understands the importance in considering the strategic impact to negotiate and adjudicating matters expeditiously by providing practical solutions with an outcomes-driven approach.
