Melissa acts for insureds and their public liability insurers across all aspects of litigated and pre-action personal injury, public liability, product liability and recovery claims. She approaches her matters with a commercial, practical, and personable approach to ensure the best possible outcome for insurer clients and insureds alike.
Melissa has 14 years’ experience in the insurance industry across established insurance law firms and within in-house legal and claims teams in public liability, personal injury, property damage, recoveries, and life insurance. She has a broad range of experience having managed a range of claim portfolios and complexities in various jurisdictions including external disputes through the AFCA dispute resolution process.
Melissa’s in-house and claims experience has given her invaluable insight into the needs of her insurer and insured clients, as well as other stakeholders, and first-hand knowledge of the issues, challenges, and practical realities her insurers and insured’s face on a day-to-day basis. She understands the pressures insured’s and insurer clients are contending which drives her empathetic, pragmatic and commercial approach to resolving matters.
Melissa is a member of the NSW Claims Discussion Group and of the NSW Law Society and holds a Bachelor of Social Science and Bachelor Law with Honours from Macquarie University.
