
Kaveetha is a Special Counsel with considerable experience in coverage and defence of D&O claims and professional indemnity claims, having acted for a variety of professionals including construction professionals, accountants, finance brokers and insurance brokers.
She has acted for directors and officers in enquiries by liquidators and litigation in the Federal Court of Australia. She regularly provides coverage advice on professional indemnity and D&O policies.
Kaveetha has over 18 years of experience in professional indemnity, having advised and defended a diverse range of construction professionals including design engineers, building superintendents, project managers, fire engineers, builders and surveyors. Notably, she has advised on coverage and defended claims against design engineers involving large-scale litigation on drainage design for a major motorway; building superintendents and supervisors in multi-party litigation concerning major housing developments, commercial premises and apartment complexes; fire engineers on compliance with building codes; construction site supervisors regarding the location of underground telecommunications lines; cladding disputes involving fire engineers and design professionals; and litigation involving calculations provided by surveyors in obtaining approval for subdividing commercial lots.
She has also handled claims against accountants relating to the provision of taxation advice, responses to notices from the ATO, and allegedly negligent advice provided to family trust structures and small businesses. In addition, she has represented finance brokers in matters concerning alleged losses from share structures and planning advice and managed large claims against insurance brokers involving cancellation of policies, extent of cover and alleged failure to place adequate cover.
Kaveetha was on the expert legal panel for Collaborate Reporting for Safer Structures Australasia (CROSS_AUS) and assisted it on a voluntary basis in 2025. She has presented on risk management and provided updates to building professionals and insurers to address risks faced by the construction industry. Furthermore, she manages multi-jurisdictional litigation and has led legal teams through regulatory inquiries and several Royal Commission inquiries.
