Gilchrist Connell welcomes four senior appointments across key growth areas

Gilchrist Connell, a leading Australian insurance sector law firm, is delighted to welcome four senior lawyers, Julian Peake (Special Counsel), Audrey-Lee Pham (Senior Associate), Allana Smith (Senior Associate) and Lucy Chen (Senior Associate), to its teams in Sydney and Melbourne.

These senior hires complement the firm’s existing team in key areas of client demand and continue Gilchrist Connell’s unwavering growth trajectory. Julian, Audrey-Lee and Lucy are experienced practitioners in public liability, financial lines, construction, medical negligence and sensitive claims work, whilst Allana’s expertise aligns with our Workplace offering.

Special Counsel

Julian Peake (Sydney)

Julian holds a strong background in areas of construction risk, property damage, construction and infrastructure projects including rail projects, dams and commercial building developments. Having acted for commercial clients and insurers in relation to a range of complex disputes including road, rail and tunnelling projects, dams and commercial and residential building developments, Julian is attuned to the legal, commercial and insurance issues facing his clients.

Senior Associate

Audrey-Lee Pham (Sydney)

Audrey-Lee‘s extensive experience in personal injury and litigation makes her an established senior legal practitioner who provides specialist advice and representation in regard to medical negligence claims, public liability and sensitive claims work.

Allana Smith (Melbourne)

Allana’s practice spans areas of law that regulate work relationships such as employment, discrimination, occupational health and safety, whistleblowing and privacy. She has given a range of presentations at workplace related conferences and has chaired an employment law workshop at the Law Institute of Victoria.

Lucy Chen (Sydney)

Lucy is an experienced civil and commercial litigation practitioner whose experience in insurance spans financial lines, professional indemnity, coverage and sensitive claims lines (including royal commission work). Additionally, Lucy currently volunteers at Refugee Legal, Marrickville Legal Centre and Women’s Legal Services NSW.
