Gilchrist Connell promotes Financial Lines specialist Tiarn Pauletto to Principal

June 2023

Leading Australian insurance sector firm is thrilled to promote the Sydney-based Special Counsel to Principal, effective 1 July 2023.

With a robust background in acting for insurers, underwriting agencies, and corporate entities across Australia, Tiarn advises clients on claims and issues across financial lines, subrogated recoveries, property and commercial disputes.

The strength of Tiarn’s relationships with her clients and within the insurance industry sets her apart. Tiarn was recognised in Best Lawyers Ones to Watch in 2023 and in the 2024 Best Lawyers directory (Insurance Law).

Managing Principal Richard Wood remarked, “This promotion is well-deserved, and a reflection of Tiarn’s technical skills, leadership qualities and her solid client relationships.”

Principal Alex Haslam noted, “We are incredibly proud of Tiarn’s accomplishments and delighted to promote her to Principal. Clients appreciate Tiarn’s ability to deliver practical solutions that fit their circumstances and I have no doubt that Tiarn’s continued success will be an inspiration to others.”

This promotion follows Gilchrist Connell’s recognition as Insurance Specialist Law Firm of the Year 2023 by Australasian Law Awards, and the recent announcement of the firm’s fifth national Workplace partner, Bhrig Chauhan, in May 2023, and renowned D&O specialist, Celia Wright, who joined GC in October 2022.

As of 1 July 2023, the Gilchrist Connell partnership split will be 40% female to 60% male. Our flexible work practices continue to support equal participation in the workforce across all levels, with 61% of fee earners identifying as female and 39% male. The gender split at firm level is 73% female to 27% male. Gilchrist Connell was recently recognised as a Family Inclusive Workplace by Parents at Work, a joint initiative between it and UNICEF Australia.
