Lisa has practiced in both Australia and New Zealand. As well as practicing insurance, construction and civil litigation since 2008, Lisa has ‘front end’ insurance experience, having worked in the Asia Pacific legal, risk and governance team of a global insurer.
Lisa also has experience in workplace relations (employment) and work health and safety law, having:
- acted for employers in defence of unfair dismissal claims in the Australian Fair Work Commission and the New Zealand Employment Tribunal
- provided advice to employers on employee entitlements pursuant to an Enterprise Agreement and the National Employment Standards, and
- represented a Tertiary Education Institute in a workplace health & safety prosecution arising from a serious injury to an apprentice student.
Lisa’s liability experience includes defence of a multi-party personal injury claim alleging psychiatric injuries against Commonwealth parties and various operators of a detention centre, acting for various shopping centre managers, supermarkets and hardware stores in relation to public liability claims, and conducting a review of a recreational facility’s national and state specific waiver and limitation of liability forms for provision to clients undertaking recreational and equine activities at its sites.
