John-Paul has more than 24 years’ experience in insurance litigation and advice, acting for insurers, insured and self-insured. He is an authority in WA workers’ compensation and employers’ liability and acts in the defence of public liability claim, property damage (first party and liability) claims, motor vehicle property and CTP claims, as well as professional indemnity claims. John-Paul also has extensive experience in pursuit of recoveries such as property damage and workers’ compensation and he has advised and represented insurers and insured in complex indemnity disputes.

His general liability practice acts for a wide range of insurers and self-insured, in complex catastrophic and multi-party claims, to slips and trips, and everything in between. He co-authored the fully updated ‘Workers Compensation – Western Australia’ chapter of Halsburys Laws of Australia, and is a long serving member of the WA Committee of AILA.

John-Paul is an effective negotiator in formal and informal settings, as well as an experienced Counsel, at levels up to and including the Court of Appeal. He has a long track record of working hard – and when necessary fighting hard – to put his clients in the best position to obtain a favourable commercial result.

In 2018 John-Paul has been honoured as a life member of the Australian Insurance Law Association.

In 2019 John-Paul was awarded the Lexology Client Choice Award for Insurance.
