Janet’s experience in the field of medical treatment liability has been grounded upon solid and extensive clinical experience in various health settings both in Western Australia and London.
A former general, intensive and coronary care nurse, midwife and tutor on medical negligence law to post-graduate nurses, Janet’s progression into health-related law was natural and logical.
Janet has established a legal practice specialising predominantly in the areas of personal injuries, compulsory third party motor vehicle and medical treatment liability, acting for a broad range of clients including privately indemnified medical practitioners and public hospitals.
Prior to commencing in private legal practice, Janet worked as an in-house legal adviser and case manager at the then Medical Defence Australia (MDAWA). In her role Janet provided legal and risk management advice to member doctors in both professional negligence matters and disciplinary proceedings.
Leveraging intricate medical knowledge and background to her legal practice, Janet offers market leading technical skills in acquiring high quality evidence from witnesses and creating thorough, succinct and medically accurate statements and pleadings and strategic advice.
