At this time of year we would like to share the fantastic work of Ronald McDonald House Charities SA. Young Madi’s story highlights all that is incredible and awe-inspiring about the charity.

Madi suffers from Neurofibromatosis, a serious condition which requires her Mildura family to rely on the ‘home away from home’ that RMHC SA offers. The family has been accommodated at the House over the past 13 years, having lost Madi’s older sister to cancer in 2010 and needing to stay in Adelaide for Madi’s multiple surgeries and treatments. Marie, Madi’s mum, describes RMHC SA as a ‘lifeline’, keeping them going through their ‘darkest times’, enabling Madi to continue her schooling and make lifelong friends. The House also ensures birthdays and Christmases aren’t forgotten, and makes a special effort to organise celebrations and volunteer visitors. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to have been part of the RMHC SA ‘support community’ over the past two years.

Fronting up to Serve

Members of our GC Perth team don aprons throughout the year to support the wonderful work done by ‘ShopFront’ – a WA charity that prepares and serves food to those in need, as well as offering assistance across a range of essential services.

GC has joined the Red Cross Red25 program and we’ve started donating!

With one donation able to save three lives, GC encourages all staff to support blood donation as part of the Red25 program and last week staff from our Brisbane office donated at a local Red Cross centre. #save3lives

Running and Raising!

Our Brisbane team joined the city’s biggest fun run, clocking up the k’s and donating the funds they raised to the Choice, Passion, Life group – a major provider of disability services and support in Queensland.

GC is pleased to support the fantastic work and contribution of Rural Aid – a national charity delivering vital assistance to primary producers around Australia.

Donning the denim for kids

Donning the denim on Jeans for Genes Day last Friday, our Sydney team enjoyed supporting the Children’s Medical Research Institute and their work they do to find cures for children’s genetic diseases.  While fantastic progress is being made, one in 20 kids face a birth defect or genetic disease.  The Institute is currently working on gene therapy to find cures for previously incurable genetic diseases, working to change “incurable” to “curable”.

Helping the Daniel Morcombe Foundation to Score Big!

Our Brisbane crew (with Sydney back-up) joining in the Liberty International Underwriters fundraiser at the Queensland Tennis Centre – all in the name of fundraising for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.  The team enjoyed plenty of swings [and no doubt a few misses] court-side, as well as the opportunity to contribute to the event’s $20,000 target.  Great work to everyone involved for hitting that total and then some.

Supporting Justice for All

An enthusiastic fundraising team from GC Adelaide joined in the 2019 JusticeNet SA ‘Walk for Justice’ event, walking the 5km scenic city route to support JusticeNet’s work helping thousands of disadvantaged South Australians receive access to justice.
